Project Name: Engaging CSOs for enhancing access to justice of women and marginalized groups (Dhanusha & Bara District)

Implementation Period: April 16, 2023 - December 15, 2023

Budget: NRs. 4,213,039 (USD 31,997)

Introduction:

Public Defender Society of Nepal (PDS-Nepal) is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced auditors/firms to conduct an independent audit for the above-mentioned project. The purpose of this audit is to ensure compliance with financial regulations, assess project effectiveness, and provide recommendations for future improvements.

Scope of Work:

The selected auditor/firm will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive audit covering the financial transactions, compliance with donor requirements, and the overall performance of the project. The audit should include, but not be limited to:

1. Reviewing financial records, expenditures, and documentation related to the project.
2. Assessing the compliance of financial activities with the project budget, donor guidelines, and applicable regulations.
3. Evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of project implementation in achieving its objectives.
4. Providing recommendations for enhancing financial and operational processes for future projects.

Requirements for Audit Services:

The auditor/firm should possess the following qualifications:

1. A recognized audit firm with relevant experience in conducting audits for projects funded by international organizations or donors.
2. Expertise in auditing projects related to legal aid, women's rights, or initiatives supporting marginalized groups will be an advantage.
3. Experience in conducting audits in accordance with international auditing standards and familiarity with donor compliance regulations.

Proposal Submission:

Interested auditors/firms are requested to submit their proposals electronically to vacancy@pds-n.org no later than December 07, 2023. The proposal should include the following:

1. Company profile highlighting relevant experience and expertise.
2. Detailed methodology and approach to conducting the audit.
3. Proposed timeline for completing the audit.
4. Financial proposal detailing the audit fees and expenses.

Evaluation and Selection Criteria:

1. Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
2. Experience and qualifications of the auditor/firm.
3. Methodology and approach for conducting the audit.
4. Cost-effectiveness of the proposed services.

Important Dates:

• Proposal Submission Deadline: 7 Dec 2023
• Expected Contract Start Date: December 10, 2023
• Expected final report: December 14, 2023
